Description A wooden block from the bell tower of St. John the Baptist Church in Bishop's Castle. It was part of a collection of rubbish removed from the clock tower. This block was originally a patch over a much worn hole in the floorboards through which the bell rope was threaded. This block was replaced by another which is now in situ. It still has 4 forged nails in place.
