The range of heritage items stored at Bishop’s Castle Heritage Resource Centre is increasing all the time and at the centre or online you can access our growing on-line collections database.
The level of access to items in each collection is controlled by depositors and may vary, as will copyright conditions. Subject to these restrictions we can assist researchers, BY ARRANGEMENT any week day or evening or at weekends:-
To search the catalogue of stored items in person at BCHRC. Both a computer catalogue using MODES
software and a card index catalogue are being developed- By making the BCHRC collection database available on-line.
- To have physical access to original collection material or copies by arrangement and subject to the owner’s agreement
- To use our reference collection of secondary sources on Shropshire, notably the Roger Brown Collection (placed here in memory of Eric Brown of Shrewsbury), as well as copies of original local documents kindly made available by Shropshire Archives.
- By providing printed copies of many items up to A3 size.
- To locate information lodged elsewhere through our links with local heritage organisations and contacts with the County Museum and Archives.
- By searching our catalogue, collections and reference library on your behalf.
